ABOUT THE LABEL
Co-founded by Nate Rza and DJ Chi, The Stoa Group is an independent record label and production house spanning the San Francisco Bay Area, Orlando, and Seattle. We are the official home to Transcribe, AstralNaughts, and Bandit Hands.
The Stoa Group's sound is built on contrast—blending high-fidelity atmospheric soundscapes with gritty, lo-fi textures, always driven by rhythmically complex production. An ASCAP member since 2004, Nate Rza leads the label as the primary producer, mix, and mastering engineer.
Our studio thrives on a true hybrid workflow. We bridge DAWs like Pro Tools, Ableton Live, Reason and Serato with pristine SSL conversion. The label's signature grooves and sound design come from hands-on hardware sequencing with the MPC1000 and Maschine MK3, layered with advanced synthesis via Arturia Pigments.
